Steaming on the River Dart
The last remaining coal fired steam powered paddle steamer "Kingwear Castle" has returned to the River Dart and from April you will be able to take a cruise aboard.
She was built in 1924 at Philip & Son of Dartmouth and plied her trade between Totnes and Dartmouth until 1965. (her engines are even older, dating back to 1904),
A nostalgic trip on the steam railway from Paignton to Dartmouth has always been a favourite trip of many of our guests, often combined with a boat trip on the river Dart.
