Paignton is located at the centre of Tor Bay and along with Brixham and Torquay the area is known as "The English Riviera".
Sheltered by Dartmoor the bay is renowned for its year round milder climate.
The history of Paignton goes back thousands of years but it was only in the late 1800's that it developed as a seaside resort with the arrival of the railway. Harbour Lodge was built at about that time and first became a guest house in1964 and has been under the current ownership of Peter & Christine Lloyd since 2004.
Today Paignton offers not only beaches but also attractions like the Zoo and Paignton to Dartmouth Steam railway. It is an ideal base to explore the surrounding South Devon coast and countryside. There are many National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens nearby and Dartmoor, Exeter and Plymouth are all easily accessible.
To ensure an ongoing committment to quality we are independantly assessed annually against the criteria detailed in the "Visit England Guest Accommodation Quality Standards".
